Ch. Debrianna Jaeda (pronounced Jada)
She is the light of my life and the joy in my heart
After researching this toy breed called the Havanese for many months, I finally made my decision and yes we were going to get a Havanese. I set my expectations too high and wanted it all, the perfect dog (not possible). I wanted a female, show quality, excellent health, great temperament, championship lines, silky straight coat and brown coat color.
After talking to several breeders and looking at many puppies, I soon realized I wasn’t going to get it all. It takes breeders years to produce puppies that have it all, and they usually keep these puppies in their breeding programs. We finally chose to purchase a puppy from Debrianna Havanese. After discussing and evaluating her puppies we decided on a Gold female. She had the outgoing personality, show quality and good health I was looking for, but I didn’t get my brown color or silky coat. But as a breeder I know health is the most important thing, secondly personality and structure if you want a show dog.
Jaeda was born on Jan 24, 2005 and we brought her home at the beginning of April, she was 10 weeks old. She was so small I was afraid she would break, she was smaller than our 8 week old Wheaten puppies. It was a bit of an adjustment having a smaller dog in the house. I soon realized they are a big dog in a small package.
Jaeda entered the show ring at the age of 8 1/2 months, we started with a bang and took best of winners and earned 3 points, what a way to start.
In Nov of 2006 Jaeda became a new champion.
Jaeda is now just over 6 yrs old. She is 9.5 inches tall. She is stockier and has bulked out a bit since having puppies she now weighs 14lbs.
