About Us:
We started our dog family a few years after my Husband and I got married with our first pet a Sealyham Terrier, his name was Wheeler. We got him in 1986 when he was 5 year old. He was a true Terrier with a very strong personality. We had many great years with him, he passed away at the age of 11.
We decided that our house was just too quiet and needed to get another dog. We started our search for another Terrier. We went to dogs shows and found the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. When we saw this breed we new this was the one. So through a breeder (Perrydales Kennels) we purchased our first Wheaten, Jock. He was a handfull, his nick name was monster and this he was. He was going to be a pet, but that changed when I meet Kim Ferbrowski (Samis) one of my neighbors at that time, who is now my long time best friend. She was involved in showing dogs, she explained the dog show world to me and I was hooked. Kim showed our Jock and he received his championship with many breed wins and some group placements. Our plan was to use him for stud, however he developed stomach problems so we decided it would be best to neuter him.
We then went looking for a female Wheaten and found Sheila and Ed Teichreb from Anlon Kennels, we purchased our Tasha from them. As Tasha grew we could see that she had all the qualities to be a top show dog. I decided to send her to my cousins, Joy and Steward Gladstone (in BC) who are Professional Handlers. Within 2 months Tasha was a new champion with Best of Breeds and Puppy groups. Tasha came home and we specialied her for a couple more years with more Best of Breeds and some Groups placements. Tasha retired from the show world and she had her first litter Dec 30, 1999, (almost millennium puppies). She had 2 more litters with a total of 19 pups, and 3 became champions. With much sadness Tasha left me on March 31th, 2011, she was 14 1/2. She was always my Husbands dog and now she and Rob are together again.
After the passing of our Jock in the spring of 2004 we decided that we had to have another dog and Tasha needed a buddy. This time we wanted a smaller breed. After many hours of research I found this wonderful breed the Havanese, and as I have heard many breeders say “you've got to have a Havanese”. We brought Jaeda into our lives in the spring of 2005.
